Named after a Boheiman town called Karlsbad, Carlsbad is a SO CAL beachtown that is located 35 miles north of the City of San Diego surrounded by mountains, lagoons and the Ocean. Although the “village” or Carlsbad dates back more than 100 years, Carlsbad was incorporated July 16, 1952. At the time of incorporation, there were about 7000 residents.
